Understanding ur pet dog :)

  1. Dogs communicate frequently, quickly and more than most other pets. The more we try to listen to them, the more we'll appreciate them. Dogs also observe us sharply and to a great extent, compliment what we do for them. So, the best way to find an amazing companion in a dog is by spending time talking to him, playing with him and teaching him what u expect him to do. The more u communicate to him, the more expressive he becomes.
  2. Dogs are very sensitive to our voice modulations, that's how they easily judge when we are happy, angry, sad, sick or excited. So, avoid screaming at your dog often, as it really will upset him much.
  3. Just like us, even dogs love to be appreciated, and encouraged when he does things well. The best ways to appreciate him will be by offering him a snack, pat, or by cuddling him. He very well understands verbal appreciations too.
  4. Dogs consider themselves as one among our family members, no matter you give him separate plate, bowl n shelter. Even dogs develop a social image for themselves among the fellow human beings, n other pets, n they are very concerned about how important they look in front of people outside the family. So, try your best not to ill treat him before your guest, or outside home. When he does a mistake, first sit down with him and tell him on his face that what he is doing is not appreciated. You'll for sure find better results than scolding him or beating him.
  5. Dogs are possessive about their things and their family members, especially the ones they have had since they were small pups. They fell very insecure if anyone inappropriate grabs his things, or you dispose it off, or if you keep it away from him. (eg. his mat, bowl, toy) So, try your best to leave his favorite things to him.
  6. When ur pet picks up your things, don't snatch it from him harshly n keep it out of reach. Instead, tell him that they are yours n not his'. Tell him that he should never touch them. He'll feel respected and keep his dignity by not doing so. That's how I trained my pet not to pick n n play with socks, news papers, etc. Now he walks everywhere in the house but never touches things that are not his.
  7. If you still find your dog picking up things and eating them, its high time for deworming and also buy him some toys for himself. So, he'll not have a need to touch ur things.

The more you treat him like a human kid, the more you'll find yourself gifted with him!

Happy Petting!
